Sad dollhouse update

Hey guys, I have some sad news.
My dollhouse broke. :(

I have been so careful while taking the roofs off, and Andrew has been too while he's helping me, but it was just too brittle. Today Andrew took it apart, and he (with his construction wisdom) told me that it would not be a good idea to try to add onto it. :( So he's going to get me a kit to build, and I'm taking pieces that are important to me, like the bay window and the trim, and I'm going to incorporate it into the new dollhouse.
I think it's still going to be a nice tribute to my grandpa, because I'm taking as much as I can from the one he built me and then I'll make the nicest dollhouse possible with it.
My mum is really upset, she keeps saying I ruined it, and dad isn't even home yet, I really don't want to know what he's going to think. I cried really hard when Andrew told me that the wood is too dry and brittle to use.

Tomorrow, we're going to look at some dollhouses at Hobby Lobby, and he's getting me shingles and paint to fix up the bay window so that it's ready to put in the new dollhouse when we get it. I think tomorrow I'll show you what I'm thinking of doing, I'm still making up my mind now, and Andrew's deciding how much we can spend on the kit alone. I know it'll be at least a month before I can get the kit, so I'm going to work on other things until then. I guess my Friday feature of dollhouses will become some eye candy ones that I really like.
